Biography of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

image

Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, (born 1944,
Mbarra district, Uganda), politician who
became president of Uganda in 1986.
Museveni was born to cattle farmers
and attended missionary schools.
While studying political science and
economics at the University of Dar es
Salaam (B.A., 1970) in Tanzania , he
became chairman of a leftist student
group allied with African liberation
movements. When Idi Amin came to
power in Uganda in 1971, Museveni
returned to Tanzania in exile. There he
founded the Front for National
Salvation, which helped overthrow
Amin in 1979.
Museveni held posts in transitional
governments and in 1980 ran for
president of Uganda. When the
elections, widely believed to have been
rigged, were won by Milton Obote ,
Museveni formed the National
Resistance Movement. The resistance
eventually prevailed, and on Jan. 26,
1986, Museveni declared himself
president of Uganda. He was elected to
the post on May 9, 1996, and his
backers won control of the National
Assembly in legislative elections held
the following month. Museveni was
reelected in 2001 and again in 2006
after a constitutional amendment
passed the previous year had
eliminated established term limits for
the presidency. He was reelected
again in 2011, although the opposition
and international observers noted
problems with the polling process.
As president, Museveni helped
revitalize the country, providing
political stability, a growing economy,
and an improved infrastructure. He
instituted a number of capitalist
reforms and supported a free press.
Although Museveni initially rejected
multiparty democracy, arguing that it
would degenerate into tribal politics in
a poor African country, he accepted
the results of a 2005 referendum that
overwhelmingly supported a return to
multiparty politics; the next year the
country held its first multiparty
elections since 1980. Museveni also
implemented measures to combat
AIDS . Uganda, in fact, was one of the
first African countries to have success
battling the illness.
In his foreign policy, Museveni often
generated controversy by supporting
rebels in other African countries. He
backed Laurent Kabila , who deposed
Mobutu Sese Seko in neighbouring
Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of
the Congo) in 1997, the Tutsi exiles
who were fighting against the
government of Rwanda, and a group,
headed by one of his former
schoolmates, battling the Islamic
fundamentalist rulers of Sudan.
Museveni justified his support of rebels
by stating that his goal was to achieve
regional integration in both politics and
economics and that the downfall of
corrupt regimes was necessary to
bring about such a union.
Ironically, corruption was also an issue
in Uganda under Museveni. Over the
years, foreign and domestic support
for Museveni waned in some quarters,
with corruption being cited as one of
the problems; Museveni’s growing
intolerance with dissenting views was
another commonly cited criticism. He
also came under fire for his lack of
success with eliminating the Lord’s
Resistance Army (LRA), a militia led by
Joseph Kony that terrorized northern
Uganda for decades. Although the LRA
was largely forced out of the country,
the group continued to commit
atrocities in neighbouring countries.

Minister Banyenzaki declares Mbabazi Go-
Forward sign “obscene”
“That ka-finger he is pointing-pointing is
obscene in our culture. That’s why he’s
starting from the East. In Kigezi we shall
chase him away,” Henry Banyenzaki
reportedly said.
The junior minister for economic monitoring
who comes from Kabale was addressing
members of an NGO in Kampala recently.
He suggested that Mbabazi’s sign could
only be entertained in eastern Uganda.
Mbabazi Go Forward sign is actually a
combination of NRM’s thumbs-up and a
forward-going index finger.
It is a public secret that former premier
Amama Mbabazi and Banyenzaki are not
friends. It was Banyenzaki, after all, who
recently accused Mbabazi of being a tyrant. More to come……..

The late General Aronda

Eyewitness report.

SOME FACTS SURROUNDING ARONDA’S
DEATH, SOME WIERD,
1- Just hours after he was
pronounced dead and the post-
mortem not yet done,the government
spokesperson Ofwono Opondo came up
and claimed he died of heart attack.
2-we have been told by a source close
to the Ugandn embassy in UAE that
the regime in Uganda has instructed
the authorities in Dubai not to carrry
out a post-mortem and some regime
doctors have been flown to Dubai in a
chartered aircraft to collect the body
and do the post-mortem in Uganda.
3-The family members of Aronda
who wanted to follow, were tactifully
left in Kampala cliaiming the
chartered plane had received
restricted inflight permission and
time on the ground, and there wasn’t
enough time to wait for the family to
join the travel..
WHO WANTED
ARONDA DEAD AND WHY?

THE REAL CAUSE OF GEN. ARONDA’S
DEATH MAY NEVER BE KNOWN BUT
THOSE WHO WANTED HIM DEAD ARE
KNOWN
First on I would like to send my
condolenses to the family of General
Aronda at this difficult
moment.General Aronda had served
Museveni regime in different
capacities and at one he worked
under the presidential protection unit
and it was during that time that his
relationship with the wife of Yoweri
Museveni became sour, after Janet
Museveni discovered that a house
Aronda had stationed guards on, and
claimimg it was housing the late John
Garang, was instead being used by
Museveni and a former state house
employee, a one Enid Kukunda,as a
love nest, a lady who later gave birth
to Museveni’s two kids, Joel and
Angela.The discovery of the role
Aronda played in this affair, led to
hostility from the first lady and
multitude of her close relatives
working in military and government
among them Brigadier Tumukunde.
At first Museveni continued to give
Aronda more personal
assignments,until he discovered that
the animosity against him at state
house was insummountable, and he
transfered him to the armoured
brigade from where he was promoted
and appointed army commander
.When Muhoozii came on the scene
,him and his mother embarked on a
campaign of bringing Aronda
down,and he (Aronda) became
aware and he started making his own
circle of friends, whom he confided in
his detest for the Muhoozi rise and
the manouvres by the Museveni
family to make him(Muhoozi)
president.Some of these people
betrayed him and told Museveni, and
Museveni instructed some trusted
intelligence agents in state house ,to
design a way of eliminating
Aronda.General Sejusa got wind of
the plot and not only informed
Aronda, but went public about it and
the rest is history.Fearing that
Aronda could make a pre-emptive
coup,Museveni sacked him,but
because Museveni feared the
reaction of the Bahoororo,whose
support he has thrived on over the
years,he just gave him the ministry
job,wth a view of “getting him” at
another opportunity. Our sources

ONE SENTENCE MUNTU UTTTERED
WAS ENOUGH TO SHOW WHERE HIS
STAKE IS: QUOTE: ” WE CAN
ORGANISE CIVIL DISOBDIENCE
AFTER WE HAVE PARTICIPATED IN
THE ELECTION AND GOT CHEATED”
# TOPDISHONESTY

How could Muntu blame the
opposition for not storming
parliament after they refused to
pass reforms, when it was him who
advised his close associates Ceclia
Ogwal and Katuntu etc to vote with
the regime against those electoral
reforms?

It is amazing how Muntu has so
much confidence that Museveni
can conduct an election in which
he can be defeated

requests. Among the requests was
one difficult one.The wanted the

that he did not know anything about
it.That they should ask their clan
leaders. Or if they are aggrieved

enmasse leaving the President in
total shock and embarrassment .He
appealed to them to stay , his

them but to no avail. The President
even requested the Zibondo to appeal
to his people to stay handing him the
mike to do so but people continued
walking off while giving the president
the FDC two fingers salute and saying
abusive words. And that was the end
of the meeting. Our media decided
not to cover this important story.
Kaliro has been a Museveni
